Floraison: A New Season in Bloom — Your Guide to Spring Styling
There is something about the arrival of spring that makes us want to open the windows, clear away the heavier layers of winter and bring a little more colour and light back into the home.
Floraison — A New Season in Bloom is our Spring/Summer 2026–27 seasonal edit, bringing together expressive prints, relaxed natural fabrics, fresh stripes, breathable sheets and lighter layers for the warmer months ahead.
Rather than completely reinventing a room, Floraison is about making thoughtful seasonal changes — introducing a new print, changing the weight of your bedding, adding a fresh cushion or simply bringing a new colour into the mix.
Let Print Bring the Season to Life
Spring gives us permission to have a little more fun with pattern and colour. Florals and botanicals can instantly shift a bedroom away from the heavier mood of winter and create something lighter, fresher and more expressive.
This season, we are seeing florals interpreted in very different ways. Some are soft and painterly, while others use bolder colour, abstract forms and larger botanical motifs.
Our Floraison print story brings together designs such as Gabriella, Chelsea, Camellia and Inga, each offering a different way to introduce colour into the bedroom.
The key is that you don't need to match every element of the room back to the print. Instead, choose one or two colours from your quilt cover and repeat them subtly through sheets, cushions or a throw. It creates a room that feels considered without looking overly coordinated.
The Relaxed Appeal of Linen
Few fabrics feel as naturally suited to spring as linen. Its relaxed texture gives a bedroom an effortless quality and works particularly well when you want the bed to feel styled without appearing too formal.
For the new season, stripes, checks and softened natural tones give linen a fresher direction.
The Linen House Vintage Wide Stripe Natural is a perfect example. Its wider stripe and understated natural palette make it easy to introduce pattern while retaining the calm, relaxed quality we associate with linen.
Pairing it with a smaller check or gingham, such as Aura Mini Gingham Olive, shows how scale can be mixed while keeping the overall palette restrained.
Don't be afraid of the natural creasing and texture of linen. That relaxed appearance is part of its appeal and can make a spring bedroom feel softer and less structured.
The Stripe Gets a Spring Update
Some patterns never really disappear, and the stripe is one of them.
What changes from season to season is the way we use it. Instead of relying only on classic navy and white, spring gives the stripe an opportunity to become softer and more playful.
Linen House Monday Stripe in Pear introduces a fresh green tone that feels particularly suited to the new season. The colour brings life to the bedroom while the simplicity of the stripe keeps the look easy to live with.
Stripes are also exceptionally versatile when it comes to layering. They can sit comfortably alongside plain white, natural linen, soft green, stone and other subtle patterns without competing for attention.
Layer for the Season Ahead
One of the biggest changes we make as winter gives way to spring isn't necessarily colour — it's weight.
The very warm quilt and heavy blankets that worked through winter can quickly become too much as daytime and overnight temperatures begin to rise. But spring weather can also be unpredictable, which is why layering works so well at this time of year.
Instead of relying on one heavy layer, think about building the bed using lighter pieces that can easily be added or removed.
Start with a Lightweight Quilt
A lighter quilt provides the main layer of warmth without the weight of a winter quilt. For people who still prefer a little more warmth overnight, a medium-weight quilt can also be a useful transitional choice.
Add a Coverlet
A coverlet is one of the easiest ways to change the look and feel of a bed for spring. Used over a lightweight quilt or on its own during warmer weather, it adds texture and another layer without making the bed feel overly heavy.
Coverlets can also completely change the visual balance of a bedroom. Fold one across the lower third of the bed for a more tailored look, or allow it to fall naturally for something more relaxed.
Keep a Blanket Within Reach
A blanket gives you flexibility on those spring nights when the temperature suddenly drops. Fold it across the end of the bed rather than hiding it away — it becomes part of the room's styling while remaining easy to pull up when needed.
This is also where you can introduce another colour or texture without committing to changing the entire bed.
Rethink Your Sheets for Warmer Nights
The change of season is also a good time to reconsider what sits closest to your skin each night — your sheets.
Different fabrics and constructions create very different sleeping experiences, so there isn't one single "best" sheet for spring. It comes down to the feel you prefer.
Cotton percale is a great choice if you enjoy a crisp, cool and airy feel. Bamboo cotton offers a softer, silkier hand feel, while cotton sateen is ideal for those who prefer their sheets smooth and soft. Pure linen provides a more relaxed, naturally textured alternative.
As temperatures rise, changing your sheets can make just as much difference to how the bed feels as changing the quilt itself.
Small Changes Can Shift the Whole Room
A seasonal update doesn't always need to begin with the bed.
Sometimes one new cushion, a light throw or a different combination of colours is enough to make a familiar room feel new again.
Cushions are particularly useful because they allow you to pick up colours already appearing elsewhere in the room. Choose a tone from your quilt cover, artwork or rug and repeat it once or twice. That small connection can pull the entire room together.
Texture matters too. Combining smooth bedding with a woven, embroidered or textured cushion creates depth without adding visual clutter.
Bring Spring Into the Bathroom
The bedroom doesn't have to be the only room that changes with the season.
Fresh towels in softer botanical, coastal or sun-washed colours can completely change the mood of a bathroom without requiring a major redesign.
If your bathroom is predominantly white or neutral, towels are one of the easiest ways to introduce seasonal colour. Greens, soft blues, warm neutrals and muted pinks can all create a subtle connection back to the colours appearing elsewhere in your home.
A Home in Bloom
Floraison isn't about following one particular decorating style. It's about responding to the season.
For one home, that might mean an expressive floral quilt cover. For another, it could be crisp new sheets, a linen stripe, a lighter quilt or simply a blanket folded at the end of the bed.
The common thread is creating a home that feels a little lighter, fresher and more relaxed as we move into the warmer months.
Start with the room you spend the most time in, make one change, and build from there.
